In taking urgent action to combat climatic change (SDG 13) and help in restoring life on land (SDG 15), Green Cooking focuses on helping communities have fewer trees cut for fuel purposes.

IMPACT ON INCOME

In ending poverty in all its forms (SDG1), Green Cooking focuses on helping women spend more time getting involved in economic activities rather than spending time seeking firewood and charcoal and helping families not spend their money on healing diseases resulting from smoke.

Our Journey Towards Sustainability

Founded in Arusha, Tanzania, Green Cooking emerged to tackle environmental issues and promote sustainable livelihoods, directly impacting families since our establishment.

Tanzanian Shillings Saved

The green cooking basket has contributed to household social and economic empowerment; the family spent a minimum of 80,000 TZS for firewood per month, through an evaluation conducted After the green cooking basket dissemination, families saved around 50,000 TZS per month

Trees Saved

Through the evaluation conducted, green cooking baskets have saved 87 trees and 2.8 tons of CO2 emissions per family per year. Conclusion: The Green Cooking organization, through Green Cooking Basket, has saved 1,305 trees and 450 tons of CO2 emissions per year.
